- [Instructor] Now that we have Cinnamon installed, let's take a tour. The first thing you may notice is that Cinnamon looks a lot like MATE, but has a more polished feel. Unlike MATE, though, there's only one panel and it's at the bottom of the screen. The panel has an Application menu which looks like a cross between Windows 10 and KDE. When you click on the Application menu, you'll see three columns. The left hand column is full of large icons with Firefox, System Settings, a File Manager and logout buttons. The center column is Application categories. Mouse over a category and the right hand column changes. Select the application you want to run in the right hand column. The Cinnamon Application menu is a bit more complex than MATE, but not as difficult as the one in KDE. If you click on the Systems Settings Control Center icon, you'll get Cinnamon Settings Application. In the Appearance row, you can change the backgrounds, effects, fonts, and themes, much like any other desktop…
