- [Instructor] KDE was one of the first desktop environments for Linux. When KDE created Version 4, they drastically changed how it worked and it took years to get it right. Now it's the most powerful Linux desktop, and warrants a closer look. Let's start by preparing a CentOS 7 VM clone just for KDE. I'm using the CentOS 7 full DVD VM I created in our Linux Installation and Overview course. Create a clone, select your virtual machine, right-click and select Clone. You're going to change the name of this clone to CentOS 7 KDE, we'll want to click Reinitialize the MAC address of all network cards. Click Next. We'll also select Linked Clone to save disk space. Now click Clone. Once the clone has been created, click on it and boot it up. We want to dismiss any virtual box messages, click on the username, and log in. We'll also go to fullscreen mode with virtual box. To install software, we'll use a terminal, so click on Applications, Favorites, Terminal, and I'll make Terminal fullscreen…
