- [Instructor] Before we get started with VNC, we'll want to make a couple of changes to our VirtualBox virtual machine. First we'll want to turn off 3D acceleration if it's on. Click on your virtual machine and click on Settings. Then click on Display. If the Enable 3D Acceleration box is ghosted out, close this dialogue, click on Discard, click on Discard again, and then click on Settings a second time. Now click on Display and you'll be able to make sure that is disabled. 3D acceleration can cause issues where dialogue boxes hover above the mouse pointer during the remote desktop sessions, keeping you from being able to log in. Also, by default, VirtualBox creates a private network using network address translation, or NAT, to route our traffic to the network. This works fine for traffic originating from our VM, but not for traffic attempting to enter our VM from another host. To allow a remote desktop connection from another host, we'll need to change our VirtualBox network…
