Installing Debian

- [Instructor] Whether we're starting the installer from an internal disk or from a file for a virtual machine, it's time to install Debian. I'll start up my virtual machine here. And shortly after I do that, the Debian installer launches. The installer gives me quite a few options to install, both a graphical installer and a regular or text-based installer. Under the advanced options, I also have choices for graphical and text-based expert installation, which is useful for setting up static IP addresses. There's also rescue modes, automated installations, and speech-enabled options. The advanced installation options are interesting to explore but we'll stick with the regular one for this course. So I'll press Escape and go back to choose the graphical install. I'll select my language and continue. Then I'll make sure my location setting is correct. After that comes the keyboard map and this one looks right for me.…
