Installing common software in CentOS 8

- After you have Enterprise Linux installed and the user experience configured the way you like it, you may want to install some common software from the software repositories. You have two ways of doing this. First, let's go into overview mode and type software, and hit enter. This will bring up the graphical software installation program. You can click on the various categories and see software to install. For instance, click on audio and video, and it will show a couple of programs. Keep in mind that this is not the only software you can install. It's the software that is recommended. Enterprise Linux 8, as we've installed it has access to roughly 7,000 software packages. Only a few of which are installable from this GUI. In order to have access to all installable software, you will need to use the command line. Let's open a terminal and install a few common programs out of the standard software repositories.…
