- [Narrator] In order to change a user's account settings after they've been created, we'll need to use the user mod command. Most of the SIN text for user mod is identical to that of user add. Let's discuss a few of user mods more common options. Dash D lets you change the user's home directory. We might use this if we manually move their home directory and need to update etsy password. Dash G and dash U options allow us to change the primary group ID as well as the user's user ID. Dash capital G is for adding users to supplemental groups. Note that this is a complete list and will over ride their current list of groups unless we use the next option, dash A. Dash A and combination with dash capital G allows you to append people to supplemental groups. Dash L allows us to change the user's login name.
