Query remote DNS servers

- [Instructor] We have more than one command to query DNS servers, including the legacy NSLookup. However dig does such a good job I'm going to focus on it. Let's type in dig space redhat.com and look at the results. In a terminal, type dig space redhat.com and hit Enter. This shows information on redhat.com. The dig command shows the header which includes the dig command version number and the global options used by dig. It also shows a question section which is the question that sent to the DNS server. Since the default question is an address query it shows that we made an address query. Then comes the answer section which is the response from the DNS query. In our case, it shows the address record. Next is the authority section which displays the DNS name server that has the authority to respond to this query.
