- [Grant] The LPIC-1 Version 5 certification is made up of two exams. This course covers exam 101. For this exam, time management is key. You have roughly 60 questions to accomplish in 90 minutes, but the minutes can go by fast. The exam consists of multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. Complete the easy questions first. If you get hung up on one difficult item and run out of time before getting to the easier items, you may fail the test. The test really does follow the exam objectives. The Linux Professional Institute has told you what is on the exam so pay close attention to the objectives. This exam has increased focus on system architecture, Linux installation and package management, GNU and Unix commands, devices, Linux filesystems, and the filesystem hierarchy standard.
