- [Instructor] With VNC, there are multiple issues that can crop up. This video covers the most common issues with connecting real VNC with a VNC server running on CentOS 7. If your VNC viewer won't connect to your CentOS virtual machine, you'll want to check your IP address. So open a terminal, type in ifconfig, and you'll notice my IP address starts with 10.0. This means that virtual box is using the network address translation network type. You'll want to change this by going to your devices, network, network settings, and you'll change this to bridged adapter, make sure that your active network card is the one that's selected, click on OK, and now watch in your menu, the network card will go away and it'll come back. Let's turn it on and we'll get our IP address again. Now we can see that the IP address is 10.3. Now depending on your network, it may be something else. Just as long as it's not 10.0.
