Types of hypervisors
- [Instructor] In the previous video, I outlined how a type two hypervisor work. The application requests resources such as memory disc or network from the Guest OS in the Virtual Machine. The VM then requests resources from the hypervisor, which in turn asks the Host OS, which then accesses the resources from the physical machine. There are different types of hypervisors, but generally they're categorized as type one or type two. In the case of a type two hypervisor, such as VirtualBox, It's an application running on a Host OS, which in turn provides Virtual Machines for Guest Operating Systems. In a type one hypervisor, the application requests the resources from the Guest OS and the VM, which in turn requests the resources from the hypervisor. So far it's the same.
