Update system software

- [Instructor] It's a good idea to keep your system software updated and even though we installed from the full DVD ISO, there will be quite a few software packages that need updating. The reason for this is that the DVD installer pulls its software from the DVD, which may be months old. Unless the DVD just came out, there will be newer software packages available. A network install takes longer but will not have any packages that need updated because it installs the latest packages from the software repositories. Let's look at the various ways we can update all systems software. One of these software updates may be the Linux kernel so we'll want to reboot when we're done. Linux doesn't often need to reboot after system software updates unless there's a new kernel. Take note that networking needs to be turned on in order to update any software.
