Upgrading to a new release
- [Instructor] When you're ready to move to a new release of Debian there are a few steps to take. The first is deciding which release you'll move to. If you're working with a stable branch of one release it's a good idea to switch to the stable branch of the next release when it's available, though you can always move up from the stable branch of the given release to the unstable, or testing branches, or over to the experimental branch. For most users it's recommended that you stay on the stable branch, or possibly the testing branch, if there's software there that you need. Unstable and experimental are really only recommended for software developers who need to test or experiment with new software, as it effects their own software systems.
