- [Instructor] Now let's get into some of the distortion effects in Logic that come from the digital world. So let's go ahead, I'm going to get rid of this. Actually, let's leave this overdrive on the bass, it's a cool sound. (upbeat music) Nice and tubby. Let's take a listen to the kick drum, all right? (kick drum music) I like to add some extra heft to it. And there's a lot of stuff that we could do, but hey, just for fun, let's start with some bit crushing. I love bit crushing. It's basically a digital form of distortion that originally came from down sampling and from making the dynamic range and the sample rate of digital audio very low. And it's an effect that we're very fond of because we think of it as like an eight bit kind of sound from back in the day. Certain types of synthesizers and video games really have these characteristics. And we have it sort of distilled into this plugin, which is really handy.…
