Connecting audio interfaces

- To input and output sound, Logic X can use the built in sound card that's already inside your Mac. But if you're serious about recording and mixing, and if you want to input and output more than two channels at a time, it will help you to learn about how you can use an external audio interface along with Logic Pro X. In this movie we will explore how and where to set up Logic to talk to your external audio interface. Now remember, out of the box, Mac audio interface includes a built in connector for both input and output. Although if your Mac's of a newer generation laptop, your only input and output option may be your thunderbolt connector. But if you have a Mac with an eighth inch audio connector and an internal mic, this can be used to input and output audio through the computer speakers as well. Software that's part of your Mac's operating system is called Core Audio and we can take a look at what our system is seeing, in terms of it's internal built in input and built in output…
