- [Narrator] All right, gang, it's time to talk about my old friend modifier. Okay, modifier essentially allows you to do what the role of like a switchboard operator does. Okay, so it's very simple. We have incoming midi such as velocity, midi note number, after touch, pitch bend, whatever. Mod wheel is a good example. We can reassign that to something else. So let's say for example, I have something assigned to my mod wheel on my synthesizer. Let's grab retro synth and let's get something going with the mod wheel. (randomized beeping sounds) All right, and so let's say mod wheel's going to control like filter cutoff for example. (randomized beeping sounds) Actually let's have it control FM amount. (randomized beeping sounds) Okay, so that's cool. That's cool what that's doing, but let's say for example you don't have the flexibility to reassign a bunch of things, or maybe you're using a hardware synthesizer…
