Creating a pattern region and pattern cell

- [Instructor] So there's a new type of region in the latest version of Logic Pro. And that's called a Pattern Region. We talked about that a little bit when we were browsing through Apple factory content earlier in this course. But you can create Pattern Regions from scratch. And working with a Pattern Region can be a really fun way to produce music. And relies a lot around pattern sequencing which is one of the most traditional ways of programming drums, programming synthesizers using a step sequencer. So I'm on the super Super Soul lead which is a sound from alchemy. And I'm just going to play that with my standard MIDI keyboard. (soft beats) All right. If I right click on an empty region in the timeline or control click, you can see that it brings up a dropdown menu. And we have a choice at the top to either create a MIDI Region or a Pattern Region. If we create a MIDI Region, it's going to create an empty…
