- [Instructor] Now we're going to take a look at some different flavors of distortion that Logic offers with its stock plugins. Distortion is great, because we can add a lot of flavor and some of the characteristics that we get from recording actual hardware. So let's start out by just taking a look at something, let's do it on this bass here, I think that'll be a lot of fun. (tone playing) Yeah, that'll be nice. So distortion can mean all types of different things, we're going to start out with the simplest plugins that Logic offers here. And we're going to start with the aptly named distortion. This particular distortion is designed to emulate certain types of hardware distortion that you get, and it has this tone knob in here, so we can really change the flavor of it, make it a little bit more aggressive, make it mellower, and between the drive, the output and the tone, we have a good amount of flexibility.…
