- [Instructor] Alright, this is another one of Logic's very simple, straightforward synthesizers, but it packs a real punch. This is ESE, and it stands for: the ensemble synth. And this is a polyphonic synthesizer. (synth music) So, if you wanted to think about the ESM as sort of a moage type sound, you could think of ESE as almost like a Juno type sound. And it's really very simple. It's quite similar to the ESE in that we have a single oscillator, (synth music) and we have two different waves, essentially. We have a sawtooth. (synth music) If we open up the filter, we hear a lot more of it. And then we have a square wave that we can change the pulse-width of, which changes the harmonic content. Let's take a listen as I move this knob. (discordant synth music) It's quite a loud synthesizer. (synth music) Especially when you're playing multiple notes. Anyway, as I turn this down, (synth music) you'll hear that things get a little bit more balanced. And we can also do some pulse-width…
