- [Narrator] Now let's talk about modulation. We've already used envelope 2 to modulate our amplitude and actually, believe it or not, right off the bat, we are using velocity because any time you set up one of these ranges where you split apart the Pac-man here, you're setting up a modulation range that will react to whatever it says via with. Now, via essentially means that that signal is going to be activating that modulation range. So, for example, we have the glide and we have the pitcher right here. So if I turn up the glide, what that's going to do is actually make the synthesize glide between different pitches instead of stepping. Take a listen. (synthesizer glides) Definitely heard glide on a synthesizer before, and you can definitely use it on a sampler, don't forget that. Now, the pitcher is really interesting because what it does is it actually turns the glide into essentially a pitch envelope.
