- [Instructor] Now that you're almost finished tracking your vocals, there are a few things we need to clean up before we move on to the mixing stage. First, let's be sure to remove the beginning and ends of the recording take that are not needed. There are times in hip-hop where you may want to leave these parts in in order to give a recording a more live or freestyle feel. However, that's up to you. Now if the artist is clearing their throat or doing something not beneficial to the feeling of the record, let's get rid of it. So if I solo our vocal take here, you're going to hear some headphone bleed, some dialogue maybe, some breathing. So we want to go ahead, and get rid of that, because you will notice in the final mix. And again this is not something I feel is beneficial, so we're going to go ahead and just zoom in, and get rid of these parts. And we're just dragging the edges over here, changing the length.
