Making a classic vocoding effect

- Kraftwerk, Marauder all the way to T-Pain. A vocoded vocal is a classic effect. In this movie, we'll work through a tutorial on how to get that sound with the vocoder instrument in Logic Pro. If you watched a previous movie in this course about vocoding techniques, you saw how a vocoder could be setup in Ableton Live. Here we'll set up one in Logic Pro using Logic's vocoder's synth instrument. It's called the EVOC 20 PS. It's a slightly different setup as you will see, but there are some similarities in signal flow, and this time we'll be creating the classic voice-based vocoder effect, where the voice the modulator and a synth is the carrier. If you remember in Live, we used a vocoder via an external synthesizer. In Logic the EVOC 20 instrument has its own onboard synthesizer, so all we need to do is connect it to the modulating signal.
