- [Narrator] Now it's time to talk about the objects. So whereas we have the material that we just talked about, which is like the guitar string, the drumhead, the horn, whatever you want to look at it as, the pipe, we have the object, which is sometimes called the excitor in other instruments. This is the thing that we're using to strike or to vibrate the material that is actually going to make the sound. Keep in mind with the physical modeling synthesizer that we do not have one without the other. The object doesn't really make noise without the material, the material doesn't move without the object. And we have our amplitude envelope over on the right hand side here. We can actually only control the object with it, and each object type does react differently to it. So first of all, let's start out talking about strength. Right now we only have one object turned on. We have three different objects, and their parameters are very similar, and essentially we start off with strength. So…
