Phasers and vibratos

- There are a couple of modulation effects that I really like for creating different types of movement than you would approach with a chorus or a flanger. And that's the phasers and the vibrato style effects. These are ones that I typically like to have be a little bit more conspicuous with their movement, and they can add a lot of really cool character to different types of sounds. So let's start with the simplest one. Let's look at the microphaser. The microphaser is a phase shifter with an LFO. Basically, a phaser effect is using an all pass filter to shift the phase of a certain range of frequencies. It typically has an LFO that is going to modulate that frequency or set of frequencies up and down. And that's when you get the phasie effect. So I'm going to do this on the lead sound that I have here because it works really well on sounds that don't have a ton of movement musically and can kind of handle a good amount…
