- [Instructor] Miking a public figure like a motivational speaker, corporate executive, pastor or stage actor is a special challenge that uncovers several unique considerations. When comparing reliability and sound quality, wired mics win over wireless every time. Though modern wireless systems are very good, with digital systems even comparing well to the sound quality of a wired mic, they bring some serious potential problems when not set up properly. Current wireless technology offers at least some degree of frequency agility which means that the receiver can locate a frequency that won't suffer interference from other wireless systems nearby. Once the receiver has discovered a good frequency, it's a pretty simple matter to pair the transmitter, whether from a microphone or body-pack to the receiver.
