Slicing up your samples

Let's slice up a drum loop to create variations in the groove for that perfect breakdown or B section of the track, with the Option >Scissors >Tool combination. This is an all time favorite technique for building a drum groove, and introducing that sense of the, drummer getting busy. On track one I have an audio file called track 31 B that I've done some option slicing to. Let's listen to it with everything else, then I'll solo it at the end so you can hear how at the end of bar four, I sliced it up. Coming up here he slices, on a kick. I'll copy the track 3b to a new track, mute the original and use the repeat regions key command that as Cmd+R to make three copies. And let's mute, the first performance. And I'll call this, Track 31 Copy. So, I'm going to grab my Scissors tool, from the Tools menu, right where it defaulted to the pointer. I'll select the Scissors tool and now this will be my main tool. Now if I cut into the beat with the Scissors tool, it will cut the region wherever…
