Transposer functions
- [Instructor] So now let's say you've got a killer chord that you really like but you want it to be diatonic. In other words, you don't want it to be the same shape flying around the whole keyboard. You can see that all of the inner harmony of this chord remains exactly the same. It's just moving the root around, literally plopping the shape down wherever the root lands. The great thing here is that Logic has a lovely transposer module in the media effects. It's so easy to use, it's amazing. You're going to love it. This is a very simple module. It just takes your incoming MIDI pitches and just nudges them around. It's very similar to the scale plug-in in Ableton Live, if you've seen that. It starts out very simple. We can go to transpose and go through the semitones, which moves the whole thing around but the real power lies in this scale thing. So let's scrap that sound that's just a little bit more straightforward…
