- Even though the graphical MIDI data in logic is clear and easy to use some composers still prefer to write their music with good old fashioned notation. And logic has a very sophisticated built in notation system. And you can access this from the score editor. So for this movie let's take an overview of the score editor. So now just like the piano roll editor you can't do anything in the score editor unless there is a MIDI region to work from. So I'm going to go ahead and create a blank MIDI region just type my T button to get my pencil tool. I'll create a MIDI region and I'll grab the edge of it to pull it out to be a four bar blank MIDI region. Now I want to open this in the score editor so I can go up to window and choose open score editor or cmd + 5. And here we see our score editor.
