Using delay effects to enhance vocals

- [Instructor] Like reverb processing, delay is another time based vocal effect that works quite well as ascend. By setting up delay as ascend, you can mix in the amount of delay to taste, and even apply other processing to just that delay. As we'll do later in this course. Here I wanna focus on two styles of delay. The classic Elvis Presley slash John Lennon slap back effect and a more modern rhythmic style delay. First let's work on the slap back style delay. So I'm gonna go ahead and show our mixer pane, and just like we did with the reverb, we're gonna split off the lead vocal track over ascend and it's gonna return on an effects return track. So if I go ahead into the send section and I choose bus, bus one, I can send a portion of the lead vocal signal over a but and Logic will automatically create a return track that the bus returns on. In this case it calls it Aux1, but I can go ahead and make it specific and call it delay. This is strictly our delay track and we'll be able to…
