Working with oscillators

- [Instructor] As we discover, oscillators which are capable of generating sine, square, triangle and sawtooth wave forms are at the heart of a lot of synth instruments. In this movie, we'll see where they live on some of our favorite synths. And while we're still on the topic of additive synthesis, we'll look at some other tricks we can use when combining oscillators. So here I have a synth sequence in Logic Pro and we're going to take a look at how we can combine oscillators in the retro instrument. So right now you'll notice that in the oscillator section both of our oscillators are set to a sawtooth wave. And you'll also notice that the mix control between oscillator one on top and oscillator two is right in the middle at 50%. So we're basically mixing two exact sawtooth waves together and it sounds like this. (energetic music) Okay, could be more interesting. I mean, it's pretty cool sounding but let's use these…
