Clouds: Their stock is rising

- If the stock in any icon is rising, it has to be the cloud. With the explosion of cloud technology for the digital industry, this icon has really become the symbol du jour. Although we discuss this in the context of nature and design, I would assume most of these were developed with technology in mind. Still, designers are a resourceful lot, and have provided as many variations to this fluffy drifter as there are businesses promoting it. Aside from the tech connotations, the cloud was generally used to usher in strong winds, with an occasional face built into the cloud, with billowing cheeks and puckered lips like these two very different takes on a similar concept. Much like the face on the sun or the moon, we never seem to have an issue with personifying weather elements. After all, we've named out tropical storms for more than a century.
