Free-form: The right amount of a child
- In trying to build that hand-made aesthetic, probably nothing is more hand made than a quick sketch that captures complete innocence as if channeling your inner child. Maybe our illustration style has matured a bit, but you can't beat the pure allure of an unadulterated doodle. I truly doubt that these marks required much more than a scan to move them from analog to digital format. That does not mean that they weren't several drafts down the line from the original idea, however. Most of the logos here still have a fuzzy edge as if rendered on a cocktail napkin to lock in that spontaneity. Look at the owl's feathers and their distribution, no real symmetry here. Or this face of a cat with the keyhole, even the smile makes me smile. Orange Peel serves up smoothie beverages. Do you have any concern their product is full of preservatives…
