Hand drawn: Purity of something real

- As designers, it's no secret that we tend to labor over typographic minutiae. A topic we could discuss ad nauseum that may well put our spouses in a coma. We love type, we understand the character and nuances of a font and how it impacts public perception. We may know a bit too much for our own good. I'm probably not the only one that evaluates hand-held placards and posters at a rally. I break them into three categories. Posters that have been duplicated on some kind of press with type that's been set. These are usually handed out en masse to the attendees at the rally but those holding them had nothing to do with the sentiments or the production. Secondly, those are the uniform sized posters that use a variety of expressions but they're handwritten by the same hands and use the same markers.
