- How'd you end up doing? Did you identify more than eight? Really? Here's the key. Now you can see just what these leaves were and check it against your own answers. Let me point out a couple of tricky ones in here. You may have noticed that number one and number 12 were Oak leaves, even though they are very different in appearance. Don't forget that if you're using a particular leaf as a graphic identifier, it may be familiar to you, but not to someone in a different region or culture. You may also have noted that the Willow, the Laurel, and the Olive leaves all have a relatively similar profile. If a consumer were expected to pick out a relationship based on the shape alone, they'd probably fail. But, giving context to the leaves with olives on one, or a crown of laurel leaves, or a cluster of willow leaves hanging near the water, for example, will help the viewer place the species.
