- From oceans, to rivers, to pools, to puddles, we seem to be talking about smaller and smaller bodies of water. Let's take that jump down to the building block of it all, the lowly droplet. And, it is a building block. I could make a pitch that by watching high-speed captures of droplets, that they are not tear-shaped at all, but rather little balls of fluid that tend to get flattened out the larger and faster they fall. But I don't want to stand in the way of perception. Perception, after all, is reality. And why mess with what we think we know? When your project calls for rain, let it pour. Droplets seem to be the visual language of choice, but frankly, they can either make a logo pretty busy, or you'll find yourself exaggerating them to create a graphic that will hold up when scaled down. Attempting to show that many droplets is a bit like trying to paint a dog one hair at a time. The graphic convention you may be more accustomed to is a vertical sheet of lines, or maybe diagonal…
