Exposure compensation

- Exposure compensation is personally one of my most used features on any camera. I like to shoot in aperture priority mode where I'm controlling the aperture of the camera, and the camera is controlling everything else. Usually, I don't mind it doing everything else. I just want to get that field the way that I want it. I also want to be able to make the image a little bit brighter or a little bit darker, depending on the scene. I want to be able to do it quickly. This is where you use something called exposure compensation. The default way to get to it requires pushing a button and then moving a dial. I'm going to show you that first, but then I'm going to show you how to set the camera so that you only have to spin the dial. The default way to set this up is to push the plus and minus button on top of the camera, here, which enters the exposure compensation mode.
