Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smartphone connection
- Your GH5 has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in it. Now you don't actually have to use both. You can just use Wi-Fi for camera control and for transferring photos off, but Bluetooth does give you some added advantages such as the GPS geotagging capabilities, but also it allows you to connect to the Wi-Fi network more quickly. The Bluetooth connection is a Bluetooth LE or low energy connection, and if that is constantly established, then it will connect to the Wi-Fi more quickly. So if you're out and about and you constantly find yourself firing up Wi-Fi to transfer files over, by having that Bluetooth LE connection running in the background, it will happen a little bit faster. Now there's a probability that you are going to have a little bit less battery life if you are running Bluetooth constantly. I haven't actually run any tests and I don't have any numbers from Panasonic about this, but you have to assume that a little bit of battery drain is happening while that Bluetooth, even though…
