Wireless functions of the GH5 introduction
- Your GH5 camera includes both bluetooth and wifi antennas in it, allowing you to connect to your smartphone and do an incredible number of things. You can actually take control of the camera, shooting both stills and video, and adjusting the shots from the phone itself. You can transfer photos back and forth. You can get a GPS connection to geo tag your photos while you're shooting them. You can back up and restore settings from one camera to multiple cameras using your smartphone. And a whole bunch of other things. So we're going to look at some of those in this chapter here. Now before we go into it, there is one thing that I want to point out. The little blue LED that shows up on the top of your GH5 that indicates that a wireless connection is active is, honestly, insanely bright. It may not seem like a big deal right now or when you're in bright light or outdoors, but you get into a low light situation, that is one very very bright little blue LED.
