Blocking out the sole
- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to create the geometry for the sole of the shoe. So in the item list, I've got a new empty mesh item, which I've named sole template. So before I begin, I'm going to switch into my front view. Then I'm going to switch into polygon mode, and I'm going to do a couple more things to set up my view port. First of all, I'm going to switch to ghost mode so I can see my backdrop through the geometry. But I'm also going to hide the background geometry by clicking on this icon in the view port. And that just means that I can focus exclusively on the mesh that I'm currently working on. So with that done, I'm going to activate the polygon pen tool and I'm going to make sure that make quads is enabled. And now I can simply start drawing out some polygons using the background image as a guide. Now one thing to bear in mind is that when I re-topologize this mesh later on, I'm going to need to bevel…
