Bones and deformers
- [Teacher] This video is going to be a short introduction to bones and deformations in MODO. If you're familiar with 3D animation, you're probably familiar with the concept of bones. Bones are non rendering objects that are used a bit like a skeletal structure to deform mashers, typically on characters. And in MODO, bones are just locators that have been setup in a specific way. So I have a simple cylinder mesh here and a hierarchy of five locators that have been positioned inside it. Here on the far left we have the parent, and here on the right we have the last link in the chain. And these locators can currently be used just as they are to deform the cylinder as bones. However, they don't really look very bone like. So let's change that. I'm going to select the top most locator in the hierarchy in the item list. Then I'm going to double click on it to select the entire hierarchy. And then I'm going to expand the properties panel just to reveal all the options. And right at the…
