- In this video we're going to look at the Production render engine in Modo. That's the render engine that you use when you hit this render button up here or use the F9 keyboard shortcut. Now the first thing I'm going to do before I do any test renders will be to reduce the frame width and height simply because it doesn't make sense to do any test renders at full resolution. So I'm going to reduce the frame width to just 800 pixels, and I'm going to hold Control and hit Enter so that I change both the values proportionately. And with that done I'm going to launch my first test render with all the render settings at their default values. So the good news is that the render was extremely fast, it's come in at just 4.7 seconds. However, as you can see, there's a lot of visible noise. And this is the main drawback of the Bucket render engine, you have to go and set all the sampling settings manually, unlike the Preview render engine which just keeps firing samples until the render is…
