UV mapping the main shape

- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to UV-map the main part of the shoe, which I have selected here. And because this is a relatively complex shape I need to figure out the quickest and most efficient way of doing this. And I think the simplest workflow will be to UV-map the initial typology before it's thickened and use that as a starting point. So I'm going to head over to the item list and I'm going to look for the shoe topology mesh. Let's select that. And then I'm going to switch into edges mode and I'm also going to hide all of the background meshes so I can see what I'm doing a bit more clearly. Then I'm going to open a UV panel here on the left-hand side. But currently there is no UV map assigned to the selected mesh. If I go to the dropdown to select a UV map you can see there's nothing available. So I'm going to need to create one. So to do this, I need to open the Vertex maps panel. Let's expand the UV…
