UV unwrapping the control panel

- [Instructor] Because this control panel is going to be filled with dials and knobs and lights, there's going to be logos, et cetera, it needs a UV map. So I'm going to open a UV view port here on the side, and with my control panel selected, I'm going to switch to the default UV map, and then I'm going to go to the UV tools panel here on the side. And the existing UVs are a bit of a mess because they were just created automatically as I extended the edges out, so I'm just going to use the Delete UVs button to get rid of them. And in Polygon mode, I'm just going to select the main polygon on this panel, and I'll extend the selection to the polygon just above it and then just two polygons below. And because my work plane is aligned with the control panel, if I switch to the top view, I'm going to be looking down on it directly from above. So I can use the Project from view command to create a UV map which is perfectly aligned with this control panel geometry. Once that's done, I'm…
