Unwrap and pack

- [Instructor] So here we have the cube that I UV mapped in the previous video and as we know this UV mapping is far from optimal because we have all these physical seams, so what can we do to fix that? Well what we can do is to unwrap a bit more thoughtfully in order to minimize the number of seams. So for example if I wanted to avoid having a seam at the junction of these two faces, I could actually unwrap those two faces together as one piece. So I'll do that now, with the two faces selected I'm going to go over to the UV tools and I'm going to click unwrap and just click once in the UV view port, with that done I hit Q to drop the unwrap tool. Now as you can see, the resulting UV's are mapped diagonally across the geometry and that's because our unwrapped faces align diagonally across the UV grid. But that's very easy to fix. With the faces still selected, I'm going to hit the E key to activate the rotation tool and I'm going to hold Control as I click and drag on the rotation…
