- [Instructor] The App Store is not the only way to install new software. You can install an application that you download from the web or from an installation CD. These two options are nearly the same because of something called a disk image. So I'm here on the webpage for Google Chrome, which is a program that I can install. And it's pretty normal to see a button like this that you can click on to download an application installer. So let's do that. I'll click on that and it downloads that file to my computer. When that's finished, I'm done with Safari, so I can just quit that. When you download a file from the web using Safari, by default, it goes to your Downloads folder. So if I open up Finder, I can use the shortcut on the left for my Downloads folder and here's the file that we just downloaded. We also see a file that I downloaded earlier.
