Save files within an application
- [Instructor] In lots of applications, you will need to create a new file and do some work, but in order to keep the work that you've done, you need to save that document as a file in a folder somewhere on your storage drive. I'm starting in an application that comes with macOS called TextEdit, a very simple tool for writing documents. I've written something here, but I have not yet saved it. And there are two very different ways to save a document and it usually depends on whether that application was made by Apple or not. Now, TextEdit was made by Apple, so it has this really quick streamlined method. Up here at the top, I can click where it says Untitled, it opens up this little panel, and first, I want to give this a name. So I'll name the file here. And then I need to choose the location of where I want to store the file. So let's say I want to store it directly on the desktop. I could click that. And immediately…
