Set up Time Machine for automatic backups

- [Instructor] The easiest way to back up your Mac is by using a tool that comes with macOS called Time Machine. All you need is an external hard drive to store the backup. And it's best if you start with a completely empty drive for your backup and don't store anything else on it. I already have my external drive connected, we can see it here on the desktop. The very first time you connect an external drive to your Mac, you should see a notification asking you if you want to use that drive for time machine and you can click the setup button on that notification and gets started. But if you do not see that notification, maybe you dismiss the notification in the past and you want to go back and do the setup now, that's fine. With your external drive connected, just go to system preferences, and then select the time machine category.
