Understanding macOS: The foundation of working with a Mac

- [Nick] macOS is the operating system for Macintosh Computers. It's the core software on your computer. The foundation that supports the interface and file storage, and the platform for launching and using applications. In a way, you can think of it as the personality of your computer or the language you use to interact with it. My essential training course on macOS Big Sur addresses a simple question. How do I use a Mac? While the answer to this question takes us into lots of smaller topics, I'll do my best to make it clear and easy to digest. We will start with how to get a new Mac computer set up and configured, then we'll check out everything you need to store and organize files and work with applications on a Mac. If you are a novice computer user, this course can get you running with the Mac system. And if you're a Windows user contemplating the switch to Macintosh, this course will help you understand the core similarities and differences. Be aware before you get started, we are releasing the first part of this course now and the second half will follow very soon. So don't worry if the course seems a little short right now. There's a lot more coming. I'm Nick Brazzi and I hope you'll join me for my course on macOS Big Sur.
