- [Instructor] Of course system preferences gives you lots of detailed settings for your Mac, but for the most common settings that you need to access quickly, you can use the Control Center or you can place extra menu items in the tool bar up at the top. First, to open the Control Center, we'll click this icon in the toolbar near the top right. If you use an iPhone or iPad, this may look familiar because it works almost the same as the Control Center there, and this gives you quick access to lots of controls. For example, you can quickly adjust the volume level of your speakers, you could turn on the do not disturb mode to block notifications, or if you're listening to music, you can control it from here. Keep in mind that you may see different options depending on the features your computer has. For example, the keyboard brightness control is only going to be there if you're using a Mac with a backlit keyboard.…
