Use SSH to admin a Mac

- [Instructor] You can enable remote login on a Mac locally or through a configuration via an MDM. Turning on remote login is actually turning on the SSH system in Mac OS over port 22. The nice thing about SSH is that it's encrypted and allows a user with authorization on a computer to make a connection over the network, and to then work on that computer in a command-line interface. This can allow remote administration of a Mac with no awareness on the part of the user, allowing an administrator to get things done on a computer without disrupting the workflow of the end user. Tasks are limited only by what can be run via commands in Terminal without physical access to the computer. To start on your remote Mac, open System Preferences, and go to Sharing. Inside of Sharing, you'll find Remote Login. Select it, select Only these users, and then start setting up the list of people you want to be able to access the system over SSH.…
