Zip and unzip archive files

- [Instructor] Every now and then you might encounter a file like this. This is a zip file. You see the extension at the end of the file name, dot Z-I-P? This is an archive file that contains several other files. If you have several files to send to somebody, often it's easier to zip them all together into one file. Then you just have one file to send. So let's see how to unpack an archive file and how to create one of your own. First, unzipping a file is very easy. If you have the zip file, you can just double click on it. And in a moment, it gives me a separate folder. And if I open up that folder, I can see it contains several other files. Now, at this point, you could delete that zip file, or you could keep it around just in case you ever need to go back to the original files that came from this zip. It's really your choice.
